We are happy to inform you, that MENDELU won projects in cooperation with three tropical universities:
- Royal University of Agriculture, Cambodia
- Mekelle University, Ethiopia
- Copperbelt University and Zambia Forestry college, Zambia
The Faculty of Forestry at RUA, in collaboration with MENDELU, is launching a project to elevate higher education and research in forestry. This initiative aims to innovate existing programs and support practically oriented final theses, fostering a new generation of experts.Cooperation between the Faculty of Forestry and Environment at RUA and the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology at MENDELU will be deepened, facilitating the transfer of valuable know-how and expanding scientific collaboration for future joint publications.
A significant component focuses on establishing research collaboration with Mekelle University in northern Ethiopia. MENDELU will introduce modern instruments for researching natural ecosystems and individual trees, setting up joint research experiments involving both students and faculty from Mekelle University.
The development of The Copperbelt University (CBU) and Zambia Forestry College (ZFC) in Kitwe is also supported by the project, with the University of Zambia as the guarantor of the bachelor’s program at ZFC. Goals include improving practical training, enhancing final theses, developing science and research, revising study programs, organizing field trips, and fostering international relations. This initiative will improve practical training, enhance the quality of final theses, and foster international collaboration in forestry and environmental sciences.
